Problem: The client’s financial and revenue reporting structure was complex and required heavy use of spreadsheets and manual adjustments. Information users had to request assembled data from analysts. Often they had to wait days or weeks to receive their request, only to find the report wasn’t what they expected or needed.

Solution: The CornerStar Financial and Sales Data Marts reorganized the client’s data into common sense information—structured the way users think about their business needs. The Data Marts are incrementally refreshed nightly and users can employ Cognos Impromptu and PowerPlay to access existing report templates or to write their own queries and drill-down reports. Analysts who were consumed with assembling data are now free to perform other tasks.
